Here’s a few photos which I thought were cute :)

This is Charlie’s first attempt at feeding herself her yogurt – as you can see she was enjoying herself :)

Megan and Ian down the local park.

Charlie being cute her PJ’s and check out her curls :)

Charlie has learned to ‘put her hands on her head’..

The princesses – Megan and her cousin Constance.

We have had a couple of family days out recently and here are a few photos..

Photos from Bowood.  This place has a massive adventure playground and the steepest slide I have ever seen!  This photo is of course taken on the pirate ship :)

As dark as Charlies eyes will be, Megans are just so very blue..

Westonbert is a large forrest which is very popular at this time of the year as its very pretty with the autumn leaves changing colour.

Charlie and her Uncle Gordon (as you can see it was a little chilly, however Charlie does not like wearing lots of layers ..)

Charlie’s first ride on her dad’s shoulders :)   She quite liked it, however Ian soon discovered just what a chunky monkey she is :)

Pretty trees and leaves ..

I’m playing catch up on these photos as the village Scarecow competition was a couple of months ago!  However, as you will see this competition is taken quite seriously and an amazing amount of effort is put into everyone’s entry.  Next year Ian and I have discussed building our own All Blacks scrum in our front hedge as our entry  :)

Jack Sparrow ..

Swan Lake – 2nd place winner

Painter and subject – 1st place winner

Its half term here so we took Megan down to visit with Ian’s sister Anna and family for a few days.  Needless to say the crap weather followed us so it rained pretty much the entire time we were in Padstow and got very cold.  As we had also taken the furry people and Anna has two dogs they (being not me or Charlie) did venture outside between the rain to walk the four legged people – brave :)

On our way home the weather people were predicting sleet and snow in the West Midlands.  Ian tells me this is very unusual to get snow in October.  Well they were right, we got snow!  It was only a sprinkling, but snow it was – not happy.  This morning we woke to a frost on the ground and the furry people didn’t quite know what to make of crunchy ground, they stood there looking and sniffing it for 10 minutes :)

And some people don’t think Global warming is an issue!!!

Of course she will be part of the fun loving rock band scene where sex and drugs etc are not acceptable :)

Tomorrow (17 October) my best friend Stacey, her brother Tony, their cousins Hendon and Damon bury their fathers Peter (67) and Greg (62) who were tragically killed in a car accident last Friday in Greymouth.  It was through Greg’s relationship with my mother some 24+ years ago that I met Stace and we have been best friends ever since.  She (and later her husband Gary) have always been there for me when life got a little tough and sometimes I just needed a ’soft place to fall’ while I got my life back on track.

It is times like this that I really feel the distance of being so far away from home when I can’t be their to support those who mean so much to me.

Just discovered Noodle has STOLEN the sausages I had defrosted off the kitchen bench which I was going to make into ‘toad in the hole’ .. picture me .. I’ve made the batter, heated the roasting pan and reaching for the sausages … gone!  Go looking for evidence to discover white plastic wrapping under dining table .. not a Mastercard moment!

Not Happy!

I went and saw the specialist last week and after discussions we have agreed upon an elective c-section for the little man, so all things going according to plan he will be born on the 16 February sometime between 8-midday.  This is a good thing as Ian keeps teasing me that he will be a 12 pound baby – bloody hell I hope not!

Otherwise all is going well and apparently he is the size of a Ken Doll at the moment and starting to kick like mad .. Ian keeps whispering to him, ‘to kick with your left foot son ..’ something to do with football and Beckham I’m thinking.

Well the little girl is really a toddler now and growing so quickly.  She is officially off the plunket height growth chart for her age by about a 1cm – which is okay as having long legs will put her in good steed for being a professional tennis player :)

She likes to feed herself and although some food still ends up on the floor, it no longer ends up on the walls – so I call that progress.  She is just like her dad, she loves her meat!  She is full on crawling everywhere and yesterday I caught her attempting to climb the stairs – ekk!  She is pulling herself up onto everything and anything she can and she loves the telephone, be in mobile or land line (I wonder where she gets that from!)

Charlie and I have enrolled in swimming lessons (very brave of me to get into a fatty swim suit!) and at the moment she is learning how to blow bubbles in the water.  In typical fashion she likes it when you put her on the side of the pool and she has to fall into my arms into the water – she’s not afraid at all, she just giggles and wants me to keep doing it.

She’s probably not far away from walking and we are investigating play pens’ (Ian calls it a cage) so we can contain her when ’smellie’ arrives.. she is not going to like that much :)

Oh and her willfull personality is starting to shine through …. god help us!

So we went to the hospital today for the twenty week scan and all is well!  As you probably know we wanted to find out if it was a boy or a girl.  Garb thought it was a boy and I was convinced it was a girl.  Well…….

Garb was right!   It’s a blue one!

I’m still in shock and over the moon!
